Taper to the golden threads of summer
Braided in the wake of what has flown
Beneath a hallowed sky hear the vines grow
In a laurel wreath our colours burn
In the cedar grove the sparrow's eyes gold
See in flight its crown unfurl
Taper to another sense of dying
To a golden light that sheds

Give into the wings of summer's longing
