Burden of Flesh and Bone

To shed the ancient flesh of finite form
And reveal in endless realms unknown
Escape the ruthless clutches of a life forlorn
To wander the desolate scapes alone
I know not what my purpose be or if I shall return
Certainty is eclipsed by the fog of death
A fate for which I have yearned

Through the eyes of eternity
The self is freed
Through the haze of misery
I wander endlessly

Traverse unspoken lands beyond
Such wondrous marvels shown

Transcend unending burden of flesh and bone
Walk boundless lands unseen
Free from the grip of creation's own
Cold, callous brutality
As I wander the desolate scapes alone
With acceptance of what I've become
I shall enter the vast abyss
Fate will not be undone
